Last Day

Friday, December 31st, 2004

First let me say. I have been busy with the holidays and other projects, this is why I haven’t posted lately.

Well today is the last day of the year. Days have past and new ones are around the corner. The past year has held some good times and some not so good times. The past year I have learned that not all things are solved by yelling and cursing. This, I believe is taught by having a little child in your life. Its funny, during this year I found that I can gain more ground by talking and asking the Boy to do things than telling him to do something. I also found this year that Murphy, as in the law, is a prick. He is one of the reasons I have had so much stress in my life. Here is an example. Yesterday I leave the house to do some post Christmas shopping. When I arrive at my car I get in and start it up. Now without murphys law everything would be fine. But with this bastards law in place my exhaust brakes. So when it starts up it sounds like I just woke the monster. Also this year I learned that no matter what you need. Never do business with family or friends. It seemed that in the past year, when ever I worked or dealt with someone within my personal circle it turned to crap. Now, because of what happened within this past year there are problems that don’t seem to have an end. And I will never do business with family or close friends again.

Tonight the girlfriend is getting baptized. She has been going to a non-dominational church and has found a path. She seems to enjoy her time at church and feels its a good time to take another step in her quest to be a better person. After the big shindig, my parents are wanting to go for some ice cream. So, I guess we will end up doing that. i’m not to thrilled about this whole thing. Not because of her doing this baptismal, but because of it being on new years eve. What better way to celebrate you new life than to go out and get drunk and have non-christian like activities.

So in closing this year. I would like to say to you, my readers. Have a very safe new years eve. I hope you 2005 is fulfilling and prosperous.

Waking up

this morning the boy woke up at a bright and early eight o’clock. When we got left the parents house, he was instantly out, this guy hit the seat and was down. He slept thru the 4×4 action we had to do thru the snow that’s in this city. When we came into the living room he was totaly happy by what Santa Clause and brought. A big table with a big roadway on it. Santa also brought filled his stocking with lots of treats and small toys. After Girlfriend and I watch him discover all the stuff that santa brought we found our way to the coffee machine and started the brew(Christmas Blend from Starbucks). After coffee we asked him if he wanted to open presents, he replied with a “um-hum” and a nod of his head. He is so grown up. So we watched him open his presents and boy was he happy about what he got. For three years old he sure knows what he likes. Although, Santas table was a huge hit. Who ever know, that me of all people that could be softened I would be one.

The girlfriend was very happy about what I gave to her. She really like the cross I gave her. The Tivo was a big hit also. She gave me Socom2 with all the fixings to play online with and a kick butt coat from Old Navy.

Happy New Years!

Christmas in Dayton

Saturday, December 18th, 2004

Here I am, sitting in Dayton, watching children open presents from Santa. This is truly one of the best things one could do to lighten ones sprits. The joy that appears in a child’s eyes, it really is magical! Santa brought all the kids toys and crayons with coloring books.

After all the kids got settled with their toys, all the adults sat down to play the gift game the do every year. The way it’s played is, everyone buys a gift and brings it along. when everyone is ready, a name is drawn from a hat(or bowl) and who ever name it is goes and chooses a gift. Then another name is pulled, the new person then can either “steal” someone else’s gift or choose another gift. This goes on until everyone has a gift.

It was fun to play. The Girlfriend received a very nice blanket, and I received a nice candle thing. It’s a piece of wood with places to put votive candles in. It has a snow man painted on the front side and glass containers for the votive.

I have to say, I did have a good time. Next gathering, the Girlfriends mothers house. Wish me luck.

Not My Handy!

Wednesday, December 15th, 2004

I upgraded my phone yesterday. This wasn’t something i was looking to do(old one bit the dust), even though I would never pass up an upgrade. The phone I chose was a Sony Ericsson T637. Yes I know it’s basically the same phone I already had, just with a different color, but why change when you found a winner. I must say, this line of phone is absolutely my favorite.

If you haven’t figured it out, yes, I like my gadgets to be like Swiss Army Knives. Funny enough, I like my pocket knife to be really basic(3 blade Uncle Henry).

I also considered a Motorola V551 Video phone. What I liked about this phone was it has Bluetooth and in the cool new fashionable flip design. The 30sec video feature is kinda sweet also, i’m sure that could prove to be handy.

But alas, I went with the Sony Ericsson and so far I like it. It has an upgraded camera and the display is much easier to see in the daylight.

We’re all gonna die!

Tuesday, December 14th, 2004

Well it has happened. The worst is coming down as I type this. This terrible thing can only be told in one word. This word is a word that is whispered softly in front of children and elderly. What word is this? I’ll tell you what the word is, it’s SNOW.

Snow, The silent killer. Every year this evil substance falls to earth and every year its the same thing. Weather men get boners, kids level of excitement raise with expectations for school closings, and the elderly forget how to drive. All because of this one thing we call The Snow. Do not mock The Snow, for it is ever relentless. It comes into town not caring about what it falls apon. It drifts thru the air impacting on our belongings creating layers of choking, heat sucking drifts. It has no sympathy, if you remove it, it will only reform on your belongings after you have left them. We need to fight this life sucking stuff. We need to mobilize against it! We must fight the good fight and heat the streets! use more aerosol sprays! burn more fossil fuels! sacrifice small furry toys!(furbys would be good) and rid this planet of The Snow.

The Great White Death(tgwd). When TGWD comes it seems that the grocery stores have high sales. Is this because the grocery stores and TGWD have a contract going? Have you ever been to a grocery store when TGWD is around? Its madness! Think, first of the month with some end of the world vibe. There are millions of people in there. Like as if they just noticed that they are only down to 6 cans of tuna fish. ‘we need to get to the store before The Snow becomes to deep!’ Mind you, the most I have ever seen here is 1 foot total depth on a level surface.

It melts people.
