A Pleasing View

I remember using a PC. Scared to reboot because of hang-ups and conflicting registry settings. Having to install a driver over and over just to get something to work. The fear of the blue screen telling you over and over, day in and day out how your operating system sucks ass. I don’t miss those days. In fact, I have almost forgotten all of the stuff I knew about PCs.

When I switched to a mac it was like waking up from the matrix. But instead of finding the world shrouded in a black cloud and robots harvesting humans for power. I found a open world where anything is possible. Where, when I plug in a USB device it knows what it is, and does what it needs to do. A place where things work for me and work for a long time.

So when I heard the news this morning about the new Microsoft OS, Windows Vista being pushed back to January 07 it made me laugh. How many times has Microsoft done this to the world. Didn’t they do this with XP when it was due out? I think they pushed it back for 2 years for the same reason as they did today for Vista.

Security.

It seems every time windows has a problem it’s because of security. Some one can hack it, take over your computer, turn it into a zombie to send out porn spam to your mom and friends. Thanks Windows! Has Windows ever been secure? I can’t seem to remember a time when it was said that you could go without a firewall and virus protection on a PC. I was ecstatic to find out that Mac users don’t have to worry about viruses, and that the built in firewall is somewhat optional. sure I have both going on my iBook, but thats because I want to be a good internet citizen. I don’t want to be the freak that spreads a virus to all my blind friends because I passed a tainted attachment.

Now here is the question I pose to all you windows users that come to read my horrible blog. If there was a way to run OSX on your gray, tan or white tin can you call a computer would you? I know I would.

Swallow

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I haven’t blogged in a while. I can feel your stares on the other side of this monitor. To tell you I’ve been busy would be silly. Why couldn’t I find 20 to 25 minutes to put something out there. I mean damn, most of the folks on my roll in the sidebar post every day. And I have a feeling some of you are much busier than I am.

I don’t know. I just haven’t really had anything to say. I think it’s this metal against wood that is distracting me. I don’t know, but I even had someone send me an email giving me a topic. She sent me a .pdf of an article from CNN about women who swallow being at a lower risk for breast cancer.

Now while I would never be the one to keep anyone from doing anything that would be good for them. I don’t know if she was trying to talk me into agreeing with them that this is a bad idea or what. I just could, if your risk of breast cancer goes down by just taking a shot in the mouth then what the hell!

Now if only The Wife felt the same way I do about it.

But really, this isn’t a topic I would want to write about.

Maybe I should tell you that The Wife is coming along very well with The Spawn of Rob. She is getting all sexy with her baby shirts. I try to talk to the baby once in a while. I get really close to her belly and whisper stuff to it. Some times i tell it -yeah we don’t want to know till the day it comes- silly stuff about its mommy. Other times i give it warnings and pep-talks about ruling the world. I just hope The Boy can understand when he finds out that he is not the only one. All this time it has been him and only him, but soon its going to be him and Spawn. It should prove fun.

I’ve added a play list to the side bar. What is showing is the most recently played. I have an ideal for doing some more with it. Should paint a picture of the type of music i like. Almost all of it is well worth the buy.
