A Pleasing View
Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006I remember using a PC. Scared to reboot because of hang-ups and conflicting registry settings. Having to install a driver over and over just to get something to work. The fear of the blue screen telling you over and over, day in and day out how your operating system sucks ass. I don’t miss those days. In fact, I have almost forgotten all of the stuff I knew about PCs.
When I switched to a mac it was like waking up from the matrix. But instead of finding the world shrouded in a black cloud and robots harvesting humans for power. I found a open world where anything is possible. Where, when I plug in a USB device it knows what it is, and does what it needs to do. A place where things work for me and work for a long time.
So when I heard the news this morning about the new Microsoft OS, Windows Vista being pushed back to January 07 it made me laugh. How many times has Microsoft done this to the world. Didn’t they do this with XP when it was due out? I think they pushed it back for 2 years for the same reason as they did today for Vista.
Security.
It seems every time windows has a problem it’s because of security. Some one can hack it, take over your computer, turn it into a zombie to send out porn spam to your mom and friends. Thanks Windows! Has Windows ever been secure? I can’t seem to remember a time when it was said that you could go without a firewall and virus protection on a PC. I was ecstatic to find out that Mac users don’t have to worry about viruses, and that the built in firewall is somewhat optional. sure I have both going on my iBook, but thats because I want to be a good internet citizen. I don’t want to be the freak that spreads a virus to all my blind friends because I passed a tainted attachment.
Now here is the question I pose to all you windows users that come to read my horrible blog. If there was a way to run OSX on your gray, tan or white tin can you call a computer would you? I know I would.
