The weather is kicking ass right now. As I am typing this the wind is blowing thru my hair. The temp is a nice warm 77F degrees. The birds are chirping and the ladies are looking good.

Talk about a beautiful day. the weather man said it was going to storm this afternoon and it never did. So since I am off tomorrow I figured I would stop at my favorite coffee shop, Kidd Coffee.

There just isn’t anything better then a Kidd Coffee Carmel Macchiato. If your ever in Ohio, you really should stop in and get a cup of joe from these folks. They totally blow the pants off Starbucks.

Ok, Im off. I have to go home and gear up for the rest of the week. It’s getting close to the baby coming and I still dont have the attic room done for us.

Green

My favorite color is green. I like everything in green. Green shoes, green shirts, green coffee mugs. I’ve been working on a green theme for this blog. Everything looks better in green, including eggs and ham.

For the longest time some little man, known as The Boy always thought my favorite color is pink. Why this is I don’t know. But ever time you would ask him what my favorite color is he would smile and say pink. I don’t have anything in pink. I never like anything in pink. Its just not a good color on a man.

And for the record, I don’t buy the equation Man + Pink = Brokeback Mountain. But I do think it’s kind a metro and thats a whole different story.

So the other day my wife and son come home and he comes running up to me holding a paper towel. He held out his hand and said here. So I take the crumpled up towel and look inside.

Inside are some green M&M’s. He said he saved them all for me. The Wife -or as I now call her, the pod woman- confirms this with a nod and a smile as if to say, see he does like you.

Such things are what makes my heart melt. Melt my stone of a heart into a pool of green goo.

Speaking Of…

a pleasing view, or the lack there of.

I have been working on my fathers laptop. He has been complaining about it for some time now. Ever since he got it, its been buggy and strange. He said every time he would open the lid or turn it on, it would want to dial the modem to his provider. Even if he was doing nothing at all.

Yeah its dial up.

It was so bad he couldn’t do anything, not even solitaire without it wanting to dial. So since he is helping me with my attic. It’s the least I could do.

Oh my god! it was so infested with crap. It had, and I shit you not, 634 spambot interies. It had 86 infected files and 5 known viruses according to AVG. Then after running both Adaware and AVG three more times with rebooting in between runs. I came across a total of 24 more entries.

So I decided to load a different anti-virus program. Now usally I go with Nortons. It’s just the way I go with this stuff and synaptecs is one of the leaders. But since I didn’t have a valid copy I could load. I went with McAfee Internet Security. So far, it found 6 more entry and non never the same so its working well.

But I was still getting popups just while it sat unused. So I figured maybe I need to update the os. He was still using Windows XP SP1 so i tried to up date that. But not this time. Every time I tried, it would send me to a antivirus provider that would scan, but charge for the removal. It also had something that said it had the Blackworm virus.

Talk about a pain in the ass, I think i finally found it. And I did. Computer clean and all is good. Now if i could only find someone to buy the damn thing off him so I can convert him to a Mac
