Alone
Sunday, September 2nd, 2007Just last week The Wife left for a business trip. She was going to Atlanta for some convention about the system they use in her office. So while she was away it was just me a FROTE.
This was not something that i was looking forward to. Me and FROTE? Alone? For four days? Oh this was going to be bad. I had visions of me tying up FROTE and spoon feeding him pudding. All because he wouldn’t just leave the damn remote alone.
But it really went well. On the first day she was gone, Sunday, he was a bit confused. Rightly so also. His mother and brother had disappeared into the night and he didn’t see them the next morning like he normally would. So in between him wondering the house saying mama and Kaa (FROTE speak for The Boy) and just looking at me like what did you do with them. He was fine. He was kinda clingy thought. But i believe that was because he was still feeling bad.
Monday through Wednesday it went really well. Mornings were just the normal routine on my side. While his was being forced awake a whole hour and fifteen minutes earlier then he normally would. Oh he was pissed the first day. But he got over it quickly. Then in the evenings i would pick him up at his normal time. We would come home and play then have dinner. Play some more and do the normal bath, read, bed time routine.
I must say. I was nervous going into that week. Not that i was afraid i couldn’t handle one child. But just of the unknown of what could or might happen. After it is now all over i can look back, puff out my chest and be proud that i was able to keep my wits and not push the candy like red button that is labeled blow up.
Next year i will have two to care for. I think i may have to tie The wife up and lock her away for that week so she cant go.
