No greater sin

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

I don’t mind the heat. Well let me rephrase that, I don’t mind 80° weather heat. I really don’t mind it because it gives me something that sets me apart from most of the people I know. Most of everyone I have talked to, and this includes my parents, have turned their AC on. Why I ask? If the temperature is 80° outside with a wind, and your in your house (which is naturally shady) with the windows open. Why would you turn on the AC and pay the money for the same temp your getting for free?

So imagine my dismay when I come in from cutting the lawn and The Wife tells me we have to turn on the AC.

Crap! and i was just bragging at work on how we haven’t turned it on yet.

Why? I ask. Because, she tells me, the room upstairs is HOT . So I go up, feel the air and sure it’s warm. But no where near HOT. But being the good husband I am I say fine and turn on the AC. It’s really not a problem, I was going to turn it on this week anyway. This Thursday is supposed to be in the 90′s and i draw the line at upper 80′s to 90′s.

Maybe i can talk her into turning it off this morning and today. It is going to be only 78° today and with all the windows open it will be nice inside the house.

Blood Shot

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Since I had LASIK surgery I have suffered what I believe to be is dry eye. But everyone that I know that had it done says they don’t suffer from it. So what should I do? Every once in a while my right eye gets all red and blood shot. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke (insert Adam Ant joke here) so what could be causing it. I’ve tried to put wetting drop in my eye to see if it helps but it really just makes it more red.

I could go to the eye doctor. But then I have a feeling that they wont really tell me anything about it as far as what is causing it or how to stop it. Or they will tell me that my tear layer is now much thinner than what it was before the surgery.

I apparently had a thin tear layer before the surgery. I know this because when I wore contacts I had to wear the Focus DAILIES. This is because they are a much thinner contact than normal ones. If you don’t know, soft contacts sit below the tear layer of your eye. This is to make sure they don’t dry up and become uncomfortable it also keeps them in place. So normal contacts were to thick and would not sit below the layer making them dry out and hurt. Thus the DAILIES. So could this be why I am suffering with this red eye stuff? Because of a once then layer is now non-existent?

But like I said, it doesn’t hurt. It’s not bothering me except I get tired of people asking me what’s wrong with my eye. Maybe I’m having allergic reactions to something in the air.
